Ski Levels

Canyons is a veritable behemoth of a resort—4,000 acres, more than 180 trails, over 20 lifts, and three terrain parks. It also is home to the longest terrain park in Utah—over one-mile-long, it contains six natural half pipes plus a multitude of features. The resort offers a plethora of steep slopes, massive bowls, and heaps of pine and aspen tree skiing and miles of backcountry powder runs to explore. While the resort is geared more towards intermediate and advanced ability levels, skiers of all ages and experience levels will find suitable runs and snow-covered fun. Novices get to enjoy 10 percent of the trails, wile 44 percent for intermediate, and the other 46 percent are reserved for advanced and expert level skiers and snowboarders. Other activities on the mountain include, dog-sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, of course there is no shortage of activities off the slopes as well, choose from winter fly fishing, rock climbing, sleigh rides, ice skating and much, much, more.

Après Ski

The resort has a host of amenities to help ease the stress and pressure of planning a ski vacation. Full and half-day childcare is available as are a full array of ski and snowboarding lessons, several retail and repair shops, lockers and storage, a medical clinic, great shopping, dining, and lodging options

Rider’s Guide

This gigantic 4,000 acre resort has terrain to challenge all ability levels and age groups. From long, meandering cruiser runs to terrifyingly steep backcountry chutes, Canyons has something for everyone to enjoy. With more than 3,000 feet of vertical, nearly 200 runs and five bowls, the largest resort in Utah and fifth largest resort in the U.S. has awesomely varied terrain and more than enough lifts to take visitors around this enormous ski area.

Parks and Pipes

Utah’s longest terrain park, Transitions Terrain Park, is more than 1.1 miles long and there are more than 50 different features to ride. There is also an intermediate and beginner park for riders and freestyle skiers new to the art of riding park. The park’s elite Freeride Team will be shredding and catching air throughout the season, giving input to the bevy of builders and making sure that the park is ever changing and always improving.

Out of Bounds

The area is replete with winter activities be it sledding, tubing, skating, fly fishing, and much more. It even offers its patrons the chance to get in on the action and drive a grooming vehicle around the mountain and learn a little bit of what it takes to maintain a resort of epic proportions. As an additional bonus, the resort offers its guests the opportunity to participate in the First Tracks Program, which permits early access on the slopes and a chance to carve the mountain all alone, a must do for the most earnest powderhounds.
