Canaan Valley is widely recognized as one of the friendliest and most beautiful ski resorts in the state of West Virginia.

Ski Levels

Located near Davis in the pristine Monongahela National Forest, Canaan Valley provides a wealth of terrain and well-groomed trails that cater to beginner, intermediate and expert skiers. The resort features 91 acres of skiable land and one terrain park. Never overly crowded, the resort has three different lifts that includes a quad chair and two triple chairs. With over 850 feet of vertical drop to explore and 39 runs to experience, there is plenty of terrain to ride at Canaan Valley.

Additionally, there is tubing and airboarding, night skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to ensure that guests stay busy. For lovers of the great indoors, Canaan Valley also has an indoor pool and spa, fitness center, Kidz Korner, shopping and on-site massage.

Après Ski

The resort also has plenty to offer in the way of lodging, dining and amenities. Some favorite dining spots include the Hickory Dining Room and the Bear Paw Food Court. Relax by the warm fireplace at Quenchers Pub & Grill—a casual, light-fare pub located at the ski area. After a day on the slopes, the Laurel Lounge, located at the Main Lodge, offers an appetizer menu and an extensive selection of beverages, with occasional entertainment on weekends throughout the season. Davis and the surrounding area offers an overabundance of activities, including hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, shopping, and historical tours.

Riders Guide

Canaan Valley is renowned for providing a wide variety of runs to snowboarders of all experience levels. Impeccably groomed trails and short lift lines are the norm at Canaan Valley, a resort that takes skiing and boarding seriously. The 39 trails are evenly distributed between beginner, intermediate and expert. The longest run at Canaan Valley is over 1 mile long. The mountain covers over 850 vertical feet which means you’ll have plenty of space to carve the mountain.

Parks and Pipes

Canaan Valley has two separate terrain parks. One terrain park is completely dedicated to snowboarders, the other is completely dedicated to Airboarders. This terrain park was the first terrain park completely dedicated to Airboarding in the United States. Think of this as extreme sledding but on an inflatable raft. Both terrain parks have some great runs, and the snowboarding park features awesome boxes, rails, and jumps.

Out of Bounds

Canaan Valley has plenty of different activities for those interested in more than just snowboarding. The Valley features sledding, airboarding, cross country and snowshoeing as just a few alternatives for those heading to the mountain.

Hangout & Hookup

There are plenty of different places to hang out and grab a bite to eat when at Canaan Valley resort. The area features plenty of food right on the mountain, including the Hickory Dining Room and the Bear Paw Food Court. Those looking for some après-ski drinks should head right to the Laurel Lounge, the ultimate hangout at Canaan Valley.
