There are over 143 acres of skiable land, with opportunities for both downhill skiing and cross-country skiing available.
Anyone worried about après-ski will be happy to know the mountain resort provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy the company. The Lostbo Pub is known for an incredible pub kitchen and a friendly staff, not to mention, affordable prices and hearty portions. Never packed to capacity, the Lostbo Pub keeps the drinks flowing around a fireplace and couches. Lodging for Black Mountain is located in the town of Jackson. Some hotels that you will want to consider for your trip are the Nordic Village Resort and the Snowflake Inn. Or you could enjoy the slope-side lodgings of Whitley's Inn and discover the après-ski scene of the Shovel Handle Pub. Many of the villages accommodations promote a variety of discounts and excellent ski and stay packages, and because Black Mountain is so close to many other ski resorts, there is no shortage of comfortable accommodations.
With 143 full acres of powdery land, any snowboarder or freestyle rider will conquer plenty of great tricks, jumps, and slopes. Boarders can advance through the mountain by starting on beginner trails, if necessary, and working their way up to more advanced terrain. They also offer a host of lessons for all ages and ability levels at their Ski School.
Get in some tricks at the terrain parks with great rails and boxes, some natural snow features, and a quarter-pipe. Both terrain parks are excellent places to tweak your tricks and hone fundamental skills.
Black Mountain is not a full resort, instead of wasting time and energy on the extra perks, it focuses on maintaining the best trails and having the best terrain in the area.
While the nearby town of Jackson provides plenty of places to stay and dine, the Lostbo Pub or Shovel Handle Pub near the mountain are perfect locations for food and drink. There are plenty of people to meet and plenty of fun to be had with free pool tables, cheap and tasty food, and good drinks.
