Timberline Four Seasons Resort is widely considered an old favorite among skiers in West Virginia. The resort is located right in the heart of the breathtaking Canaan Valley and provides an abundance of skiable land complete with immaculate trails. Considered a top resort in the mid-Atlantic region with some of the longest runs this side of the Mississippi, Timberline Resort is a “little known gem in the rough.”

Timberline features the longest trail in the South, The Salamander is over two miles long and spans nearly the 1,000 feet of vertical rise. The area also boasts 36 additional trails for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and experience levels to enjoy. Thirty-four percent of its runs are rated as beginner, 32 percent are rated as intermediate, and advanced and expert skiers can enjoy the remaining 34 percent. With 100 percent snowmaking ability in addition to the average snowfall of 200 inches a year Timberline Resort is a veritable winter paradise.

Off the Slopes

There are plenty of places to stay and play when vacationing at Timberline Resort, in part, because of its location in the million acre Monongahela National Forest and its proximity to other ski areas as well as the town of Davis, WV. The resort offers a delightful slope side hotel, but there are many other options in the area from bed and breakfasts to inns and cabins. Dining options are also numerous, Timber’s Pub is a slope side restaurant that features karaoke and live entertainment on the weekends. The Blackwater Brewing Company, the Golden Anchor Restaurant, the Port Side Pub, and Gigi’s Pizza Café are just a few of the local favorites because of their affordable, delicious and hearty meals. Après ski in the area can be found at Muttley’s Downtown Pub, located in the heart of Davis.
