Off the Slopes
From the town, visitors can hop on the free gondola to the Mountain Village and ski lifts. You don’t need a car here because the gondola runs 17 hours each day. At the Mountain Village, guests enjoy a traditional ski resort village with interesting restaurants and shops. Off the slopes, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, from dog sledding tours to trips to the hot springs, or perhaps a little ice skating or guided excursions by horseback, for something a little different. There’s something about a hike or snowshoe walk to an authentic mining ghost town that sets a vacation well above the ordinary experience.
