Opened in 2004, Tamarack Resort is a relatively new, unpretentious resort with wide open runs and blue sky days. Tucked away in Idaho’s Payette River Mountains and overlooking Lake Cascade, the resort offers an unusual mix of natural features — mountain, forest, lakeside and meadow — and plenty of powder to ski and ride.
Tamarack’s ski season spans from mid-December to late March, with intense snow averaging more than 300 inches each winter. The East-facing slope catches and keeps the snow, and it also provides a natural shield from the wind. With an extraordinary blend of natural features, miles upon miles of groomed trails and great conditions, the skiing, riding and snowshoeing are exhilarating experiences and hard to match. Tamarack offers four seasons of fun and adventure with alpine and Nordic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months; and 18-hole golf, mountain hiking, biking, ziplining and fishing in the warmer months.
Tamarack Resort has many different options for onsite accommodations with lots of modern amenities. Properties include hotels, condominiums, cottages, chalets, townhomes and estate homes with varying amenities. The Lodge at Osprey Meadows includes rooms overlooking the lake and the golf course with a fitness center, hot tub and outdoor swimming pool.
The resort has a variety of dining options from Hot Shots Coffee Bar to the Canoe Grill and Seven Devils Pub. Be sure to check out Morels Lounge located inside the Lodge at Osprey Meadows for a signature cocktail. An onsite spa and daycare provides lots of reasons to stay on the property, but if you want to venture out, more lodging, dining, and shopping are accessible in Donnelly about five miles away, or 20-22 miles further down the road in McCall and Cascade.
Travelers can fly directly into Boise Airport from many cities, or direct to the McCall Airport. Tamarack is a straight 2.5 hour drive north from Boise airport via ID-55N, a 5-hour drive from Spokane, and 8.5 hours from Seattle and Portland.
