Snowmass

Just 12 miles from Aspen, Snowmass is a stunning resort that exceeds expectations. Although grouped in with Aspen as one of the 10 largest resorts in the nation, first-timers are sometimes overwhelmed at the sheer size of the mountain. The upside to visiting such a gargantuan resort is that there are plenty of things to do, see, experience, and explore on the mountain and off. It is a veritable winter wonderland.

On the Slopes

At 4,406 vertical feet, it covers more than 3,100 acres, contains over 90 trails, nearly two dozen lifts that access pristine and challenging glades and steeps, and is home to several terrain parks. The longest run is 5.3 miles and serves as a perfect endurance test for skiers and riders. There are runs suitable for all ability levels, 6 percent beginner, 50 percent intermediate, 12 percent advanced, and 32 percent expert.
