Monarch Mountain Ski Resort is located at the top of Monarch Pass, near the town of Salida in south central Colorado. This intimate ski area is known for its short lift lines, inexpensive restaurants, friendly staff on and off the mountain, and no traffic hassles to and from the ski area.

There are 55 trails for skiers and snowboarders consisting of 21 percent beginner, 37 percent intermediate, and 42 percent advanced. Services at the ski area include a lodge to relax and eat, as well as a ski and snowboard school offering group and private lessons, and a children’s center. Considered some of the best snowcat skiing in the state, the Powder Cats accesses 770 acres of expert terrain, steeps, trees, cliffs, and bowls.
