Holiday Valley

Overlooking the picturesque town of Ellicottville, NY, Holiday Valley contributes greatly to the area’s reputation as the Aspen of the east. This region of western New York State is fueled by an underlying passion for skiing and socializing. The mountain remains lit up until 10pm, offering an excellent opportunity to ski beneath the stars. And with après ski culture strong both day and night, it’s no wonder that this is one of the busiest ski resorts in New York.

Day & Night – Holiday Valley Stays Active

With an average yearly snowfall of 180 inches and 95% coverage for on-mountain snowmaking across the resort’s 290 acres, Holiday Valley operates at full speed throughout the winter season. Thirteen chairlifts servicing terrain from easy to expert make this a resort to be reckoned with. Racing and freestyle teams are both active presences, with opportunities for competitive kids from under twelve all the way up to age twenty-one.
Temperatures don’t dip drastically after sunset, making conditions ideal for the fun of skiing and snowboarding at night. Thirty-nine of the mountain’s sixty trails are lit and ready for runs. Other alternatives include Nordic (cross country) skiing and snowshoeing, tubing, and Holiday Valley’s own Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster. Get close to the ground as you ride through snowy woods in this miniature version of a roller coaster.
Come and play on trails designed for your style of winter sport. Read more about the Holiday Valley Ski Experience and five Terrain Parks.

Off the Slopes

Put yourself in the party mood by making your last chair of the day be the Mardi Gras Xpress, then pop down expert trails Firecracker or Champagne. From there it’s only a two minute drive to the center of town, where you’ll find boutique and specialty shops, local restaurants including the dining expansion to a top-rate brewery, and even a winery complete with tasting room. Before or after refueling, experience full sensory renewal at a spa, including a local salt cave – one of just four in North America. When you’re ready to call it a day, cozy up in a property that’s just right for you – this town’s hotels and inns retain an unspoiled ambiance, and condos and hotels can also be found right at slope side.
