Breckenridge

Breckenridge, Colorado, is nestled amidst the Rockies. While it is one of the most popular ski destinations, it doesn’t have to be the most expensive vacation.

Five Peaks — A Lot of Skiing

The back bowls of Peak 9 offer challenges for the most expert of skiers, while the entire town’s mountains (yes, plural) provide great beginner, intermediate, and black diamond slopes. Starting at 9,600 feet, the summit rises to 12,998—just under 3,400 vertical feet! There’s a terrain area, a super tube for snowboarders, and the world-class skiing that has made Breckenridge famous for downhill skiers. Being able to traverse between the mountains on ski trails only adds to the variety of fun in Colorado!

Off the Slopes

Quite the quintessential ski town, it was formed in 1960 because of its skiing potential. And the city has grown to suit that purpose. Breckenridge is well known for its downtown area with its quaint shops, beautiful restaurants, and the latest in alpine fashion. Discount ski and snowboard rentals are available on and off the mountain. About all of the resorts and hotels, with the hot spots on Main Street, offer lively nightly entertainment (some impressive talent comes through to perform).

Whether it’s an after-dinner brandy you’re after or dancing at the disco, a scoop of ice cream and some coffee, or a beer at a local microbrewery, you’ll find it here. And the restaurants and warm pubs of Frisco are right down the road. The folks of Summit County are glad to share their winter wonderland with you.

Getting Here

Only two hours from Denver International Airport, it has become one of the top ski resorts in the nation. Jump on I-70, relish in the views, and you’ll be there in no time.
