Bousquet Mtn
Voted “Best Downhill Skiing in the Berkshires” in the 2010 Berkshire Eagle Readers poll, the family owned and run resort is located right outside the city of Pittsfield, in the mountains of Western Massachusetts. It’s a great, intimate, and family friendly resort that’s perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers and riders. It is a simply charming resort in Massachusetts and well worth a visit this winter.
Small Mountain – Great Rep
In total, there are 200 acres spread along the Yokun Ridge, 750-vertical feet, 23 trails and one glade. They have 85 percent snowmaking coverage on their land and three terrain parks with a wide array of features, jumps, rails, and tabletops. They also have a fabulous staff—their Mountain Operation team works incredibly hard every winter in order to create and maintain the ski area, from daily grooming and snowmaking to creating top-notch terrain parks with features to challenge riders and freestyle skiers on the snow, the staff is paramount to making Bousquet the amazing resort that it is every season.
Bousquet’s Snowsports School is renowned for its professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable PSIA certified instructors that are guaranteed to provide skiers and riders with an experience of a lifetime. Not only will they instruct skiers and riders about the basics and get them feeling comfortable on the mountain, they will also instill a deep and enduring love of snow sports. In total, five Olympic downhill skiers have evolved from the Bousquet Race Team including Heidi Voelker and Kim and Krista Schmidinger, the ski area has proven to be a fantastic launching point into the world of skiing and riding.
Off the Slopes
There are some great dining options on the mountain at the Tamarack Lounge, it has a wonderful array of slope-side fare not to mention great après ski drink specials. The Tamarack Lounge has two levels and features a wraparound deck from which to enjoy spectacular mountain vistas. There are additional eateries to enjoy located in nearby Pittsfield, Lenox and West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. There are also plenty of fantastic lodging and accommodations in the area. From cozy bed and breakfasts, to historic inns and basic motels, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Getting Here
Bousquet is approximately two hours from New York City and Boston. Take Exit 2 off the Massachusetts Turnpike to Routes 20 & 7 North. Follow signs for Bousquet and Pittsfield Airport.
