Berkshire East

Berkshire East is perhaps best summed up as a throwback mountain. It’s a modern homage to the purity and simplicity of New England ski resorts.

Over 30 Years Running

Recently, the resort added wind and solar capabilities and is proud to run their entire operation on green technology! But overall, it has a distinctly retro feel and is decidedly refreshing. There are rarely lift lines, the food and drinks are good and inexpensive, and the staff go the extra mile to make sure that guests are safe and enjoying their time atop the mountain. With a vertical rise of 1,180 feet, Berkshire East will keep skiers and riders busy for hours on end. This family-run resort in the Northwest part of the state has half a dozen lifts that lead to more than 40 trails, spread evenly between beginner, intermediate, and advanced difficulty levels. Berkshire East averages about 110 inches of snowfall per year over its 400 acres of winter adventure land. More importantly, a day of skiing here will run an adult less than $60, which is a great rate.

Off the Slopes

There are plenty of things to do around the mountain throughout the year. Visitors are encouraged to take ski and ride lessons or experience the thrill of tubing on the mountain. Kids will love the The Child Care Center, which has indoor and outdoor play including crafts, music and drama, story time, games, sliding, and snow play. Or visitors may wish to venture into the beautiful Berkshire Mountains to enjoy sleighrides, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and more.

Berkshire East unfortunately does not offer overnight accommodations, however this is a great variety of delightful lodging in and around the area. Guests will have their choice between the basic comforts of hotels and motels, the romance of New England bed and breakfasts, or the luxury of private condominiums and deluxe vacation homes.
