Off the Slopes

As a family vacation destination, Apex is unparalleled. A quaint little village at the base of the mountain serves the needs of the guests, leaving them quality time both on the slopes and afterwards. Some of the mountain's slopes are open for night skiing and tubing on weekends and holidays. The rest of the week, evenings can be spent with loved ones, making memories that will last a lifetime.

The village itself comes well equipped to accommodate. They have a day care center, ski shop and rentals, snowmobile rentals, grocery and liquor stores, and numerous pubs and restaurants. You can enjoy a sleigh ride, or take some time off the slopes and play on their outdoor skating and hockey rink, or try something else on blades as Apex has a 1 Kilometer (a little over half a mile) adventure ice skating loop that is well-maintained. As is always the case, one key to having a good time is dressing right for the occasion. You'll want light layers beneath a breathable waterproof jacket, ski goggles and mask, a neck gator. As you've no doubt realized, there's far more to do there at Apex Mountain than there is time. But you can always try. At the end of the day, slip into an outdoor hot tub or kick back in the sauna, let any soreness or tension melt away.
