Year after year, Whistler is voted one of the top resorts in the world by industry magazines like Powder, SKIING, SKI Magazine, TransWorld Snowboarding and more—not to mention it’s one of the only resorts in North America that offers glacial skiing and snowboarding. Its season often runs until late June, giving you just another added benefit.

Whistler Blackcomb’s sits on two enormous mountains with over 8,171 acres of pristine snow to ski. This incredible mass of land is unparalleled—visitors to the area enjoy more than 200 trails, three glaciers, 37 lifts, 12 alpine bowls, seven terrain parks and pipes, several seven-mile plus runs, and more than a mile of vertical. Thanks to the incredible terrain, Whistler Mountain lures some of the best ski and snowboard instructors in the world. The ski and snowboard schools are absolutely top-notch and a fantastic value.

Off the Slopes

In addition to top skiing, there are relaxing and romantic activities like beautiful sleigh rides or the exhilarating snow tubing park. Take a breathtaking gondola ride from Whistler Mountain to Blackcomb Mountain—this unprecedented feat of engineering spans just under three miles, 1,430 feet above the ground, and is the longest continuous lift system in the entire world. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating are just a few of the pleasurable winter activities to experience.

Contained within the ski area are five small villages: Upper Village, Village North, Whistler Creekside, Whistler Valley, and Whistler Village. There are also several towns like Pemberton nearby that offer an array of lodging options to suit any taste and budget. From immense holiday chalets and five star luxury hotels, to budget-friendly condos, cozy townhomes, large private homes and cabins, the area has a wide selection of accommodations for the type of evenings that you envision.

Here you will also find superior shopping, Can-Ski, Quiksilver, Salomon, Burton, Showcase, The North Face, Columbia, and Columbia Kids are just a few of the brands you’ll find at the many shops. The villages feature theatres, childcare, cafes, and fantastic restaurants. The area also hosts the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, which is an authentic cultural center, originally created to celebrate the joint histories of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations, both native to Western Canada.

Après ski and nightlife in the area is bustling. Whether it’s good food, delectable cocktails, or quality live music, Whistler has it all. Three ski-in / ski-out full-service pubs and restaurants dot the bases of the two mountains, plus more than 35 bars and restaurants throughout the five villages.
